Vegetarians of High Park is a social group supported by the Toronto Vegetarian Association, with the aims of helping vegetarians and vegans living in the High Park/Bloor West Village/Junction area meet and network with likeminded individuals in the neighbourhood.
The group meets for bi-monthly social dinners, which may be at local veg-friendly restaurants, or as potlucks when a suitable space in the neighbourhood can be found. In the future, we hope to put on some community events such as screenings or workshops as a form of community outreach.

I am just beginning my journey with vegetarian eating. My body is saying ‘No’ to meat. This has been happening naturally and I am very happy about it. I do need help in getting the ways of cooking and nutrients. I would love to meet new people and being involved in my local area.
This is going to be a great group and I’m so happy to be a part of it!
Nancy, do you mind if I add you to our email list so you’ll be notified when the date and location of the first meeting is set?
P.S I would very highly recommend Colleen Patrick-Goudreau’s book 30 Day Vegan Challenge as an amazing resource for tips for cooking, shopping, nutrients, etc. I’ve spoken to several people who recently purchased this new book of hers to help them go vegetarian and said it was an enormous help!
Yes, that’s fine. Put me on your email for the events calendar. Thanks… I’ll look into the book.

So glad to have this local veg group! Looking forward to meeting some of you at a future get-together. Cheers!
I just found out The Windsor Arms (Bloor St, Yorkville area) has an amazing vegan brunch! Thought I’d share as quality vegan brunch options are limited.
It might be a bit far for everyone, but may I suggest Raw Aura in Port Credit?
I would love to come out, but getting downtown is difficult for me. Also I work evenings. Perhaps a Saturday or Sunday?
Hi Lucy, welcome to the group! The focus of this group is organizing events in the High Park neighbourhood, but in case you weren’t aware there is also a Halton/Peel vegetarian group who holds meetings in Missisauga, Oakville and Burlington.
Check them out too at veg.ca/groups.
Thanks! I did not know. π
Just wanted to say hi to my fellow veg-heads! I unfortunately don’t know too many vegans/vegetarians.
Welcome Becky! Hope you can make it out to our next meeting to meet some fellow vegetarians in the neighbourhood!
Hi everyone, I just found out about this group today, and I wish I’d known about it sooner! I don’t meet too many people who share in my views in my everyday routine, and I don’t really know anyone in the neighbourhood, so I’m pretty excited about getting together in the future for some delicious food and good company π
Welcome Andrea! Looking forward to meeting you in July! Hope you can make it. π
See you next Saturday at Active Yoga. Bring a towel and a yoga mat if you can and your bottled water. If not, we have those available at the studio.
Our website is http://www.activeyoga.ca. Our facebook is: Bikram Yoga High Park. Our address is 2281 Dundas Street West, just next door to Soup n Such.
So glad to hear about this group! Feel free to add the email from this comment to the mailing list! Are their any parent groups associated? I’ve got two wee veggie babies under age two and live in The Junction.
There is actually a Toronto Vegan Families group as well! Check out veg.ca/groups to find more info on them. They host events across the city, not just in our area though.
I can’t seem to find your email in the post SRB. Please feel free to send an email to highpark@veg.ca and I can add you to our email list from there. π
Hi
I’d like to join this group to get information on upcoming activities, dates, location etc.
Thanks
Vidya
I am a vegetarian living in the High Park area-would love to know your next vegi-meet!

Is this group still active?
Absolutely, very active! Check our page of upcoming events.
The 2014 Toronto Veggie Parade invites all veggies and the veg-curious to celebrate on Saturday, June 7. 11 am – 2 pm. Walk, dance, rollerblade, sing or cycle this family-friendly event.
This looks like such a wonderful group of people. I have been a vegetarian for 15 years, and I would love to be around other vegetable-loving people. I would love to be included in your next meet up!!! π
